so sad...
I started this blog to keep all of you updated to what I've been doing over here. But this chapter of my Montreal life is now closing...as is this blog.
As my last blog entry, I'd like to post a tribute to some of my memories here in Montreal:

No more 5-hour drives!
whoo-hoo!
I think the absolute LEAST thing I'm going to miss about living here in Montreal are the 5-hour commutes to-and-from Toronto. I'm quite the expert on the long driving now: I can now eat, drink, and take photos while driving...it's a skill I've mastered quite well, actually.
But if there's one thing that I will miss about the drives, I would have to say it's the beautiful scenery that I have seen over the last 2 years driving back and forth. There have been many sunrise and sunsets...here are some photos I've taken while driving on the 401 (no stopping...these are all motion shots baby!).

La Banquise
The ex-Spafaxian group decided to take me out for a farewell gathering after work today. We met up at "La Banquise," a 24-hour poutine restaurant (how am I only finding out about this now?!!?). Anyway...Mitch, Katie, Craille, Julie and Amy all swear this is the BEST poutine in town! The menu has approx. 22 types of poutine..some with ground beef and onions, or bacon and mushrooms..you name it, they have it. Apparently, this place offers the greatest variety in poutine here in Montreal! Who knew?!!?

a mini vacation...
So this is my LAST week working here in Montreal (whoo-hoo)! I have a week off, and then I start the new job back in the T dot...Ron took the same time off next week with me, so that he could help me move! However, after much discussion...we thought that a whole week to move might not be necessary. We thought that maybe, a short vacation might be in order. After all, I won't be able to get vacation days for at least 3 months! And Ron will start his next class soon, which means he'll be studying most of the time.
Since I had so many things to do before my move back, I left it to Ron to plan the trip (otherwise, you know I'd be all over that!). We decided to go to LAS VEGAS!! Whoo-hoo! Ron's never been, and I've only ever been once 8 years ago! He called me at work before booking the actual hotel, and I told him to book either Circus Circus or Stratusphere....both at the very end of the strip, yet both were within MY budget!
I got the email confirmation from him, with the itinerary. However, parts of the itinerary had been deleted, and at the very end of the email, he wrote: The thing you probably don’t know about me is that since I don’t travel much, when I do, I want to stay at a nice place with a lot of things. So that said, I didn’t pick Circus Circus or Stratusphere. It’s a surprise.
Ooooooh! I like surprises (this kind of surprise, anyway)! :)

So we're off to Las Vegas next week, and I have no idea where we're staying! Could it be The Venetian or Paris Paris? Maybe Caesar's Palace, or Treasure Island? Heck, maybe The Bellagio?? (ok, I know it's not THERE, but a girl can dream!) heheh
It doesn't really matter where the hotel is. All that matters is that Ron will be with me (awwww!). In the whole time we've been dating, this is our first trip together! :)

It's official!
My boss sent out the company-wide email today to let everyone know about my resignation. Here's what he wrote:
All,
It is with tremendous sadness that I announce the resignation of Production Manager extraordinaire Sally Tan. Sally has decided she’d like to try and experience life from the “other side” and has accepted a role as production manager for an ad agency in Toronto (whose office is just around the corner from our new offices!) Sally will be leaving in two weeks. She has helped implement production systems and processes for Montreal and as we move forward with our new accounts, we should be well positioned. A decision about replacement, etc. will be made in the coming weeks.
Sally, we’re sorry to see you go. Best of luck in your new role.

The Art of Packing...
This weekend, I started packing. I had kept some empty boxes in my closet, knowing that I'd end up using them again someday...I actually hate moving, but there's something about packing that I enjoy. Maybe because it reminds me of a certain game that I used to love: Tetris, where the object of the game is to try and fit all these various pieces into one box (the screen). In THAT way, it's almost like a game for me!
Mel: since I'm better than you at Tetris, then it's probably safe to say that I'm better than YOU at packing as well....that's right: CHALLENGE! :P hahahhhhahah
Ok, I'm out of boxes to try and fit all my various pieces of stuff!! Gotta go get some more!

Toronto, here I come!
So this morning, I handed in my resignation at Spafax. A few hours later, I signed the contract with Fuel Advertising....my new place of employment located at King and Dufferin! My last day at Spafax is February 16th, and my first day at Fuel is on February 26th...which means I get a week off! whoo hoo! Ron took that same week off so it should be a good week to prepare for all the moving!! I have my apartment until the end of the month, and then moving day will be February 24...anyone's welcome to come and help! :)
Now the next question: where am I gonna live?? Y'all have nice couches right?? hehe
