A pink leg!

I went to the doctor today to get my full cast. I originally only had on a splint, so I knew it was coming. The doctor was very nice and friendly! Ron came with me and we told him that we were going to be married in 18 days, and he laughed at us... who doesn't when I tell them the story?!!? Anyway, he explained that I actually only broke the Fibula, which is not the weight-bearing bone. He gave me the walking cast for the next 2 weeks (I picked my own colour of choice - my pink accent wedding colour, of course!), and I'm to come back to see how the leg is doing a few days before the wedding.

So now I have to practice walking on it... who knows... this might be what I'm walking down the aisle with! And if I do, at least I'll coordinate with my bridesmaids! ;)

My second set of visitors!

My nieces, nephews, sisters and cousins Sam and Lorna all came over today to keep me company while Ron was away for his stag. It was fun! The kids went swimming but after that, we all ate, drank, watched a movie, played video games and they all helped me put together some of my wedding stuff. Thanks ladies!

I wasn't sure how I was gonna be able to get around, or get something to eat with my broken ankle, so it was great to have people around to help me out!

My first visitors!

As you all know, I've never broken anything before (knock on wood), so it was nice when Diana and Gerwyn decided to come by for a visit! They brought us dinner, and hung out with us for a while until I had to kick them out so I could take my bath (it takes a while to take a bath with a cast after all).

They went through some of Ron's 'take-out' movie collection, and all his snacks before Di was finally satisfied and ready to go. Thanks for visiting!

Devil's Martini photos

I completely forgot that photos were taken at Devil's Martini during my stagette. I recently just found the card they gave me after taking the photos and just checked it out. See below!

One-legged bride!

Do you remember how I said I wanted our wedding to be 'different'?

I was at my dad’s for Father’s Day and was in the backyard playing with my nieces and nephews, when I rolled my ankle on a dip in the ground and fell. We thought it was just sprained but due to the amount of pain I was in, we went to the hospital and the x-rays showed that my ankle is in fact BROKEN, and they had to put a cast on it! It will be on for 4-6 weeks, so yes, I will be the one-legged bride come July 17th...

IT SUCKS, we know... but we'll have to get through it. I wanted you guys to read this here now... because when I talk to you... I don't want any pity... it was pretty depressing enough as it is. What I would love, are some creative ideas for the wedding day! How about instead of signing the guestbook, everyone signs my cast?? heheh. Any suggestions on how I walk down the aisle? Do our first dance?

Girls night out!

Thank you to all the ladies that could come out and mourn my singlehood! :)

I had so much fun... even when I was turned upside down and um, violated. It was great to have all you ladies out with me... It's been so long since we've done anything like that!

One month today...

:)

Ron actually put a timer on his computer which counts down to our wedding day: 29:19:20:30
(29 days,
19 hours,
20 minutes,
30 seconds...
29 seconds...
28 seconds...)

I'm not freaking out.... I'm not freaking out...

MARRIAGE 101

Ron and I just graduated from our marriage course! It consisted of 2 weekends out in Oshawa. I have to say, although getting up to go to class for 9am on a Saturday morning to drive all the way to Oshawa was a pain... I really enjoyed the course! It brought up a lot of topics for discussion and made you think about what marriage is really about. He really focused on what you can expect the days, months, and years following the wedding ceremony.

At the end of the class, he had us all stand up and say marriage vows to each other using Homer and Marge as the names (he was trying to show us the exact length of time for the Sacrament of Marriage... and to remember THAT during the whole wedding planning), and I have to tell you... I got all teary-eyed! It must be that darn PMS'ing I've been experiencing lately!! :P

A wonderful story...

After the bridal shower, Quel and I decided to go and watch a movie: Disney Pixar's UP! I had no idea what the movie was about, but I had heard great things about it.

It was a WONDERFUL story, and I highly recommend it! It really touched me, and I honestly can't remember the last movie I've seen that has done that to me... I loooooved it!

I actually almost forgot that it was an animated movie until you hear the kids in the theatre laugh... but it's a very touching movie .... GO SEE IT!!! :)

Shower me with your love...

(remember that Surface song?) hehe

Today was another bridal shower for me, this time hosted by Diana, Tanaz, and Quel. It's still weird to attend these things because it feels like I'm going for someone else... but it's for ME! It was awesome - a theme with all of my favourite things. Even all the presents given to me were 'favourites' from all my guests! I looooved them!

Mae brought her newest addition to her family for all of us to meet: Dylan Jackson (the only guy in the room- check out his face in the photo), but boy was he popular with all the ladies! I see a Casanova in the making Mae! :)

We played games, ate LOTS, and laughed a lot! My favourite item to take home and to show Ron was the scrapbook! Each page was a dedication from each guest filled with memories of how/when we met, wedding advice and their most memorable moment of me... it was hilarious! Thanks for a wonderful shower ladies!
