Getting ready for the big move!

As I get closer to moving in with Ron, we thought we should prepare for more storage space. Along with getting his walk-in closet (whoo-hoo!), I decided I might need a dresser/bookcase as well.

Quel and I headed to Ikea today, and purchased this unit. The shelves are all adjustable, and you have the option of putting each shelf on an incline should you decide to display your shoes! With Ron heading out to a poker game, we girls decided to attempt to put it together ourselves! And 4 hours later, we DID!! Mind you, we took several breaks in there...

Thanks for all your help Quel.. couldn't have done it without cha'! :)

Gift registering...

Ron and I finally decided to register for our 'wedding'. It still freaks me out to hear that, and that I'm actually the person involved in that 'wedding'....eek! We weren't going to, since technically, we have 2 sets of everything already.... but we figured, why not?

I have to say... it wasn't as much fun as I thought it would be (maybe I really AM the most 'unbridal' girl you know). It actually required a LOT of thinking as to how I wanted to decorate the place, or what kinds of things we MAY need, etc.

And the scanner doesn't have an UNDO button! We would see one thing, and then go down a different aisle and see something better! So now there are duplicate items in our registry (not to mention the 16 towels we accidentally scanned because I couldn't decide on the colours).

The only way to remove them is to make a list to give to the store so that they can remove it from our registry. I always hated returning items... so we'll see if I get around to making that list. (Please don't get us 16 towels)
:P

Congratulations Elisa & Dannyboy!

My cousin Daniel (we all call him 'Dannyboy') had the big wedding today to his new wife Elisa. They had the small civil wedding prior to this since my cousin was moving to Arizona, and needed his greencard. Anyhow, it was a fun night! This is the wedding that all of my family would be at prior to my own, so it was good to finally have an answer for everyone when they asked us when our wedding date was! Can't wait to party with y'all again in July family! :)

Back to playing squash!

Now that Ron and I have set a wedding date - the exercising begins! I met Quel and Mylene at the YMCA to play some squash. It's been a while, and I forgot how much I enjoy playing this sport!

After playing 4 games (that's all I could do), Quel and I hit the weight machines. We did some arm, and ab work... I'm sure we'll feel it tomorrow. We were exhausted, but definitely a great workout!

After the gym, we wanted to grab a bite to eat. Seeing how it was St. Patty's day, the temptation to go for wings and beer seemed to be the only answer! BUT, I had to resist the temptation. It was hard, but we opted for some spicy Thai food instead. See, I'm trying to be good and fit into that wedding dress! :)

A believer of the 'oil of oregano'!

Diana's always raving about her miraculous remedy for any ailment: the 'oil of oregano'. With the start of the week, I started feeling sick. I felt guilty calling in sick though (since I'm still 'new' to the company), so I went in each day, even though it was so hard for me to get out of bed every morning!

I took my Nyquil at night, and my Dayquil during work hours, and managed to get by. I met up with Diana on Wednesday night when she gave me a bottle of the 'oil of oregano' to try. Funny enough, the next day I really did start feeling better! I'm now a true believer of the 'oil' myself.

Raptors vs. Jazz

Ron was invited to the Raptors vs. Jazz game today. It was all his coworkers and their families. I just wanted the free food! :) haha. I really like his coworkers, actually. He tells me stories about them all the time, and when I talk to them, I can see why Ron enjoys his job... it helps when you really like the people you work with! Too bad the Raptors lost (sigh).

An eventful day!

My Saturday started off with a trip to the bank. Ron and I walked over to the corner of his condo to the CIBC, where we opened our first joint chequing account. Eeeek! :)

We then headed over to Ajax to celebrate Jaylene's birthday. The theme was Highschool Musical 3, and everyone was asked to wear white and red.

The kids had music class - where they danced, they had gym class - where they ran a lot... then a lunch period, then an art class. At the end of the party, each child 'graduated' and was given a certificate with hat. It was fun!

After that party, we then headed out to Markham... to Mae & Glenn's place to celebrate Norm and Stuart's birthdays. They were the last of the bunch for the 'favourites' theme, and the most exciting part of the evening was when Stu opened his present from Ev, and there were baby clothes in it!! They're going to have a baby!! :)

We had all suspected it, but were still in shock and shrieked in excitement when we all saw the baby clothes. Congratulations Ev & Stu! Can't wait to meet the lit'le mate.

lil' sis copying BIG SIS...

Turning 9... and 37!

Happy Birthday to my little niece Jaylene and her dad (my brother-in-law), Mike. We all went to Korean BBQ for dinner to celebrate. I was completely stuffed.

The funniest part of the night was when I was sitting on the wooden bench against the wall (I sat on the same side as all the kids). My nephew Matthew was sitting beside me, and I suddenly felt the wooden bench shake. I couldn't figure out what it was, and when I looked over at Matthew, he just had this smile on his face. And then I realized what it was... he farted! SO much that it shook the whole bench! My 2 nieces sitting beside me felt it too! It was hilarious!! Matthew was so proud of himself! HA!
