Quel and I decided to do the
Ride for Heart this year. It started off great...in the first little while. The weather was warm, and I was listening to music while leisurely riding on the highway.

I turned around to see where Quel was, and noticed that she wasn't behind me! I slowed down, but still couldn't find her. I finally pulled over to the side, and waited.
Next thing I know, Quel calls to tell me that there was a problem with her bike! It turns out, her pedal fell off! Oh boy. She walked her bike over to where I was and we tried to fix it but couldn't. So what's a girl to do on the DVP? "Hey, take a picture of me!" (come on, how many times can I stop on the highway to take a shot?)
Anyway, there were some peeps from the organization that finally came to try and help...but the threads on the pedal were too worn off to fix...they said we just had to wait until the yellow school bus came at the end of the ride, which probably wouldn't be for another hour or so.
And y'all know how impatient I can be...so I improvised! I offered to ride Quel's bike with the one pedal! We strapped the one pedal to my foot, and I rode all the way back to the finish line with one leg pedalling. It wasn't easy, lemme tell you...especially going uphill! By the end of the ride, I worked out my left butt cheek and my left leg so well, that it may be uneven now! haha
It was going really well...until I had to stop! I completely forgot that the pedal was strapped to my foot, so when I tried to get off the bike, I fell off of it instead. Ah well, it was a great day nonetheless, with only a few scratches to show for it.
Thanks to all those that sponsored me!
