Happy Easter!

Our Easter weekend was spent with Ron's family one day, and my family the next day. It was a weekend of eating, that's for sure! It was also Jacen's first Easter Egg Hunt! Since he's too young to actually look for them... I had the pleasure of doing it for him!! I think some of my nieces and nephews were a bit upset that 'Jacen' got more eggs than they did. hehe. They'll get over it!! :P

My parking lady...

I rent my parking spot at our condo from a lady named Chris. She's the sweetest lady, and hence the need for me to blog about her. When I mentioned to her that I had given birth, she was so happy for me! She left a card for me at concierge with a gift card in it for the baby. And while we were away on our mini trip the last couple of days, we came home to find a message from our concierge that there was a package for us to pick up. Ron picked it up and it was a gift from Chris for Jacen for Easter. I thought that was so nice of her! The gift was 2 packages of these baby cubes (shown below). She knew that I would be starting solids soon and thought these would help me. I haven't started solids yet, but I'm sure these would help! Thanks Chris!!

Our first family road trip!

We finally got Jacen's passport in the mail, so we thought we'd break it in. Ron gets the Jewish holidays off, so we decided to head out to Niagara Falls/Buffalo for 2 days for our first family trip! It was definitely harder with a baby as Ron and I have been doing this trip for a while now. The weather wasn't the greatest either... very cold and windy!


We still managed to eat well on this trip though! See below for a small look at some of our yummy meals! :)

Happy 40th Birthday Sis!

My sister Sarah turns the big 4-0 today! She wanted to go to Bonjour Brioche for breakfast so off we went. The food was yummy!! Since it was right by Di's neighbourhood, she ended up meeting us there and my sisters got to see how big Marley has gotten. I then took her to one of my favourite bakeries, Bobbette & Belle where we used one of my vouchers for 12 cupcakes! At 4 cupcakes each, we went home with full bellies and cupcakes to try.... YUM! Happy Birthday Sis!

My first time at Kensington Market!

It was a beautiful, sunny day out so we thought we should spend it outside. Di suggested going to Kensington Market, and I realized.... I've never been there! So off we went and had lunch at one of Di's fave spots for empanadas.

Sue and Sully met up with us as well, and we ended up taking the kids to a park nearby for their first ride on the swings!

My Saturday started off with a shopping trip in the morning with Diana. Just the 2 of us... no babies or husbands... just us! It felt like ol' times... when we were both single. After dropping Di off, I went home and decided I was going to go for a walk with Jacen since it was so beautiful outside. Just as we were leaving, Ron came back from the library and decided to join us!

Ron pushed the stroller, while I walked beside them. We stopped off for ice cream and just sat outside in the sun... it was great to be out with my boys!

After our walk, I had to rest up for my night out! My friend Alfie was celebrating his birthday at Mint Lounge, and the guys were all gonna be there - Alfie, Mark, Derek, and Quel. It was my first night out since having the baby... and it was to a nightclub (which I haven't been to in years)! Ron offered to stay home, while I went out gallivanting.... whooo hooo! Thanks wonderful husband Ron! :)

It was hilarious!! The birthday boy was so drunk he kept doing all these silly dance moves with random strangers at the club... it was a great night... just like ol' times!! :)

Puff pastry craze!

I've been on a puff pastry craze lately. I can't help myself... I love it! And because I've been so crazy about it, I've been trying to figure out other recipes in which I can incorporate this ingredient!! I made the toaster pastry before, and the apple pie. However, I also recently tried making strawberry shortcakes and chicken pot pie turnovers with the puff pastry (shown in photo above).

The result?? Quite good! It's really hard not to love this puff pastry product! It's definitely going to be a staple in my freezer!

Happy 1st Birthday Skyler!

Another first birthday celebration today, but this time it was Skyler's turn! There was musical chairs for the kids to play, and then the adults had a turn. It was hilarious... it almost became violent the way these 'adults' were trying to grab those chairs! Shown below is a small clip. Ethan still wanted to play so he's the only kid in the 'adult' version playing... check out his moves!

I hadn't seen a lot of my family members in a while and I had a couple of my aunts asking "Who's baby is this??" when they saw Jacen!! Did they forget I had a baby?!?! Apparently, he has gotten quite big since they last saw him.

Happy 1st Birthday Kiyan!

We headed out to celebrate Kiyan's 1st Birthday today. It was Jacen's first time attending a birthday party, and he was so good! He had everyone believe he was such a quiet baby! heehe. Happy Birthday Kiyan... what a beautiful family!
