Test driving & Karaoke!

Ron wanted to test drive some cars, so I came along! We only got to 3 cars on his list, before heading to the airport to pick up his sister and her family. We got to test the Mazda RX-8, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder, and the BMW 328i Sedan. Which one do you think I'd look good in ladies? haha
After picking up his sister and dropping them off, we went back to his parents' place (they're still in the Philippines) to return the van, when we decided to sing some KARAOKE! We figured, it was just the two of us there...why not see how well we can do?

It was hilarious! We sang songs from the 70's, 80's, rap songs, and even ones we always hear our relatives singing! By the end of the night, Ron ended up getting the high score for the evening with a 95, singing Get Busy (Shake That Thing) by Sean Paul! As for me, the highest score I could achieve was an 82, singing Do-Re-Mi (yes, from the Sound of Music). There was obviously something wrong with that mic! :P

Happy Birthday Justin!

Today we celebrated my nephew Justin's 7th Birthday! The party was held at the same park where Ron had his "accident"....a year ago today.

Suffice it to say, Ron didn't attend this party. No way...I wouldn't allow it! It's like returning to the scene of the crime! hehe

The weather wasn't the greatest to be at the park either. It was cold and windy, but we all tried to make the best of it. Wrapped up in sweaters and coats in the middle of August, we all continued on with the party. After all, there were tons of food to be had, and games to be won!

We finally packed it in when a roll of dark clouds started coming our way, and it just got too cold! Happy Birthday Justin! (this will definitely be a memorable party! Although, not as memorable as last year's....right Ron?)

Movie-watching!

This weekend I watched 3 movies: I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, Bourne Ultimatum, and Disturbia. Watching movies is so entertaining! I can't wait for the Toronto Film Festival this year (the one in Montreal wasn't the greatest). And I also like to go star-gazing in Yorkville when I can. Who wants to join me?

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Ron and I decided to take a spontaneous trip to Penn State! We were just going to go to Buffalo on the Tuesday that we both took off....but since there were no plans for the holiday Monday, we thought why not go a little further onto Pennsylvania? We both had never been!

After asking around to see where to go for the tax-free shopping, we then asked my brother for a hotel hookup, and it was all set! The drive was a bit longer than we had thought (the border had a huge line!), but once we got there, we were good to go shopping!

We went to Denny's for breakfast first, then to a nearby mall near our hotel. We then drove into Grove City and shopped there for the remainder of the day. It was exhausting! There were so many stores to check out!

The next day was spent touring around downtown Pittsburgh! It's a nice city....although I didn't see very many Asians over there. We sure got a lot of looks!

And then it was time to head home. But not before stopping off in Buffalo for some more shopping! :)

Ron and I definitely contributed to the U.S. economy in the last few days. I don't think I'll need to go shopping for the next while...I'm shopped out! (who knew that could be possible??)

Two of my nieces celebrated their birthday over the weekend! Aleenah turned 6 years old, with a My Little Pony party theme; while Melia turned 4 years old, with a Spiderman party theme! They're growing up so fast!

Island Soul at Harbourfront!

Ron and I met up with his friends Saturday night for some Island Soul...YAH MON!

It was actually pretty fun! I haven't been to Harbourfront in a loooong time, but it was great! I might just head over there again in 2 weeks for the Filipino Making Waves Festival! Support MY peeps....I might just feel like I'm in the Motherland again.
