Photography + Food = Snakshot

I wanted to take the time to blog about my friend Derek's new app that he just created! It's called Snakshot, and can be downloaded from the iTunes store (for FREE). Description below:

Photo sharing app for food that allows friends on Facebook to see where and what their friends are eating. They can view ratings by friends, as well as like and comment. The app also allows users to search for restaurants, read reviews and find hot deals through integration with Yelp.

It combines two of my favourite things in life: food and photography! I'm surprised I didn't think of it myself (not that I could write an app)... but anyhow, if you have an iPhone, give it a try! (I unfortunately don't have one, otherwise, I'd be all over this app!) Thanks all!

Leo's Dirty Thirty!

My cousin Leonard turned the big 3-0, and the cousins got together to celebrate the momentous occasion. It was an all-day event: lunch at Chako (an all-you-can eat BBQ resto), then beach volleyball at Northbeach until waaay past Jacen's bedtime. The poor kid stayed up until we were all exhausted from playing. We played for 4 hours straight! My body was so sore by the time we got home... these ol' bones of mine just ain't the same as they used to be, that's for sure!

The party continued on at my cousin's house, but we thought it best to go home and get Jacen to bed (at least, that's the excuse we told my family)... the truth is, I wanted to get to bed myself!! Thanks to my sistas for watching Jacen, and to all my nieces and nephews who kept him entertained all night while his parents had fun!

Couples Date Night Out!

We met up with Di, Gerwyn, Ev, Stu, Mae & Glenn (sorry you couldn't make it Mel&Norm) for dinner tonight at CopaCabana, a Brazilian all-you-can-eat steakhouse. The boys all sat together, while the girls got all caught up. It was a man's dream come true: all-you-can-eat meat, and half-naked women dancers that come up and dance at your table while you're eating! As you can see from the photo above, our men enjoyed themselves!

And the food was delicious! I'm a meat lover myself, so I fit right in! They bring you various types of meat throughout the evening, and there's salad/seafood/sides bar that you can go to as well. I couldn't keep up with all the meat that came... we all got meat sweats! It was a great evening out, thanks for such a fun night ladies (and gents)!

Happy New Year y'all! I hope everyone had a nice holiday. Ours was busy, which is why I've finally been able to sit down now and blog about it. And as I sit writing this, I of course, can't remember the details. There was a lot of visiting with family and friends, eating, shopping, a day at the hospital (will explain to you later), cleaning, all of us being sick, more eating and visiting... and that brings us to today!
