This year, I'm thankful that I'm still alive! I was in a car accident last Friday, and have spent most of my long weekend recuperating from it.
Rather than having to repeat the story (it makes me a little teary-eyed having to keep thinking about how close I came to NOT being alive), here goes:
I was on my way home Friday night, talking to Ron on my cell phone. There wasn't room in the driveway for me, so I parked my car on the street in front of the house. I took off my seatbelt, and was about to turn off the ignition and say bye to Ron on the phone, when suddenly...
BANG! I was hit behind by another car.
After the shock (and a huge bump on my head), I looked out my window, and saw two 13-year-old's get out of the other car and run! I realized then that the car that hit me was stolen. Why else would they run?

Neighbours came out then, and called the police and the ambulance. I told them that I lived in the house in front of me, only to realize I was no longer in front of MY house, but my neighbour's house! The car had hit me so hard, that it dragged me all the way to about 20' in front of where I was originally.
I have a sore head (from that big bump), pains around my neck and my lower back...but other than that, I'm OK. Ron took me to the hospital after we did all the police paperwork and called the insurance company.
Had I gotten out of my car 5 seconds earlier, who knows what may have happened (this is the part where I get a bit teary-eyed).
So, that said.....happy THANKSgiving everyone! I know what I'm thankful for....
