One of the "COOL" kids!

"One of these kids is not
like the other
One of these kids just
doesn't belong
Can you tell which kid is not
like the others
By the time I finish my song?"

My name is Sally, and I have an addiction. Join me...we can play against each other! :)

Downtown livin'...

A week living downtown...what's a girl to do?

Monday - met up with Quel at Dundas Square. I haven't been in this area in a loooong time! And since I was there, I decided to have dinner at Salad King (oh, it brought back good ol' Rye High memories!)

Tuesday - stayed in and had me a bbq dinner!

Wednesday - stayed in and watched 8 episodes of Heroes. Ron has the whole first season on DVD, and since I missed it on television...I thought I'd catch up on the hype! I think I'm hooked!

Thursday - Ron came over for "dinner"! ;) haha
(relax Di, don't worry...I was good. And so was the dinner. haha)

Friday
- was the kick-off of the Just for Laughs festival, so I went to go see Russell Peters at Dundas Square! Then met up with Quel for some lobster at Wah-Sing for dinner, followed by a movie at the Paramount: No Reservations, starring Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Saturday - I woke up early, and decided to head on down to the St.Lawrence market. I had never been before, and wanted to know what it was all about! After stopping by Tim Horton's for a coffee and donut, I headed on over! Several bags later, I came out with fresh veggies, meat and fruit...to which I later prepared a dinner for my Ron: baby back, baby back, baby back ribs! We then went to go see Transformers! (finally!)

Sunday - I woke up early (again), and headed to the downtown YMCA for a game of squash with Quel. We had breakfast, then we both got ready to go to Sandra/Alfie's wedding shower.

And that's it folks. That was my downtown adventures! Thanks for the experience Di!

Happy Birthday Di!

Condo-sitting!

Diana's going to Miami for a week, and she didn't want to leave her condo alone...so she asked me if I wanted to stay there.

Sooo, being the great friend that I am, I will be condo-sitting her place for the entire week!

To all of you down-towner's: what's there to do here?? :)

Karaoke with the family!

My cousin and her family are in town this week, so we all got together at my aunt's house for a family get-together! I brought Ron with me...so he could get a full taste of the "family experience".

I should have brought ear plugs for him...'cause my family's LOUD! Growing up in a huge family...if you wanted to be heard, you had to speak up! And being in an entire room, where everyone's talking...I felt bad for him. I think he got scared! hehe

After eating a Filipino feast, the aunts and uncles busted out the mahjong table...so we went down to the basement where we ended up playing video games with my nephews, nieces and cousins.

After a couple hours of playing, we ate again and then checked out the upstairs living room, where they were doing karaoke! It was the kind that would give your score at the end to tell you how your singing was. My brother went up there to sing: I Just Called To Say I Love You (Stevie Wonder), and then Ice Ice Baby (Vanilla Ice). It was hilarious, and he got a score of 52!

I've NEVER sang in front of my family before...or in front of Ron! But when they all went to go eat again...my curiosity got the better of me! It was only me, Ron, my sister Sarah and her hubby that were left with that magic mic! I went first, and sang: I Miss You (Klymaxx)...and scored a 38! Surprisingly, Ron grabbed the mic after me and sang: Can't Touch This (MC Hammer). We were totally cracking up! It was even funnier when he scored a 9!! I went again to sing: Killing Me Softly (Roberta Flack) and scored a 58! I guess Ron felt he could do better too, 'cause he grabbed the mic again and sang: Step by Step (New Kids on the Block)!! hahah. He scored a 56! Whoohoo!

We ended up spending the entire day at my aunt's house...good food, good people, good times!!

The cloud before the storm...

I have a fascination with clouds. I love the way they combine to create so many different types of objects. It's always different, depending on the day or the weather...

Jack n' Jill

Ok, those aren't their names, but that's where we went tonight! Ron's friend from Ryerson is getting married in September, and they had their Jack n' Jill over the weekend. That's them in the photo: Mark & Cynthia.

They're getting married on September 1st - the same day Alfie and Sandra are getting married. What are the chances of THAT happening? Ron and I each had one wedding this year, and it turns out to be on the exact same day! (sigh)

A Great Date!

I had a great date tonight.

We went to St. Louis wings for dinner, followed by dessert (apple pie à la mode) at Swiss Chalet. On the way, we passed by Sam's to reminisce about old memories there. It's so sad that it has closed down after all of these years.

After that, we took in a cup of tea at Tim Horton's, where we both busted out our Nintendo DS and played video games against each other for the rest of the evening! Ah, simple pleasures! I had such a good time! The fact that everyone was looking at us didn't bother me one bit....they were probably just jealous. hehe

Thanks for the great date Quel! ;)
(that's right....QUEL! A girl can have fun with her fellow gal pal ya' know!) Let's do it again next week? hehe

Happy Independence Day y'all!

We may not have the Wii....

but can you DANCE??

Ron got the Dance Revolution game with 2 mats for his PS2, and we were off dancing away most of the afternoon! It was hilarious! That's right..you laugh! :P

But just imagine two thirty-somethings bouncing along to Retro 80's music?? It's even funnier in person...I couldn't stop laughing!!

It was a great workout too...I was sweating by the end of the 3rd song, and we were only in Beginner mode! What a great way to burn those calories! ;)

So you think YOU can dance?? CHALLENGE!!

Happy Canada Day!

Where does one spend Canada Day?

For Ron and I....in Cobourg! :)

I know...who goes THERE? But Tanaz, Mo, Zarius and a bunch of their friends were there....so we thought we'd stop by! Cobourg was having their Waterfront Festival, so Ron and I ended up walking around and checking out the little town while we were there.
