Brunching...

One of my favourite times to get together with friends is for brunch. Sebby and I have been trying to get together for a while now... their baby Nolan is only 3 weeks older than Jacen, and we wanted the kids to meet!!

So off we went to Edward Levesque's Kitchen to meet for brunch. It's a place I had heard was pretty good so I really wanted to try it. It was very good, and the restaurant was cozy for us and the babies. The kids just stared at each other! It was pretty funny and very cute at the same time. Thanks for organizing Sebby! Let's do it again - sooner rather later this time. :)

Melia's First Communion!

Congratulations to my niece, Melia on receiving her first communion! She was at the very front of the line because she was the smallest in her class. hehe.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you moms out there!!

Mom & Baby Fitness!

Today was my first Mom & Baby Fitness class. It's located in the Fitness Club at the mall across from me, so I just strap Jacen on the stroller and walk on over!

I wasn't sure what to expect, but by the end of the 2-hour class I was thoroughly satisfied. It was great! We start with low impact exercises with baby in our arms (of course, my bebe weighs the most in the class - he's not the oldest one there either!)... and then we do hard impact exercises while babies are off to the side.

We then grab our babies again and do muscle strengthening, and then a cool down/stretch. After the mom workout, it's time for babies! We did songs, rhymes, the parachute and bubbles! And then there's a short period for group discussion regarding any concerns, problems, etc. you want to share.

And the moms in the class were very friendly considering I was one of the few newbies there... a lot of them were there from the last season, and there was a woman I met that actually took 2 classes a week! The instructor was fun and she uses fun and appropriate music to motivate us moms. I'm excited for next week!! :)

Montréal with the family!

Jacen and I headed out to Montreal with my sister Sarah, niece Aleenah, brother, and cousins Lorna and Sam (who have never been to Montreal). We went shopping, ate, went shopping, ate, did a couple tourist spots, and then ate some more!

I was able to bring Jacen to my old neighbourhood, so he was able to see my old apartment. It's definitely harder travelling with a baby though. He was very good on the way there and even while we were in Montreal. The last day, however, and on the way back to Toronto... he must have had enough of being in his car seat as he cried so much on the drive back. I literally had to pull out the boob and just hover over his car seat so that he could feed and eventually fall asleep during the ride home! (we were too far from a Service Station and couldn't stop) Good thing it was with family!! hehe
